Madesco profiled in British Columbia Security Technology Snapshot.

The British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) with assistance from Industry Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has recently completed a study of companies currently developing and marketing security-related technologies within the Province of British Columbia. The objective of the study was to elevate the profile of a significant BC technology sector to promote trade, investment and growth.

Participants in this study, such as Madesco, were selected to represent the diversity of technologies within this sector as well as represent various corporate life stages from pre-commercial through to mature companies. Companies were also invited to participate in a sector directory by completing a short questionnaire identifying market segments, age, revenue, headcount, and key export markets. The final result of this study is a snapshot of some of the leading security-related technologies being produced in the Province of British Columbia and a directory of the BC companies who are active in this sector.

The security technology sector in BC comprises approximately 190 companies and represents over $450 million in revenues and more than 1,550 local jobs. These companies are developing technology, products or services for security-related markets including law enforcement, first responders, homeland defense and the military.
