Madesco Technologies receives membership in the Homeland Security Industries
Association (HSIA).
Madesco Technologies, Inc. (www.madesco.ca)
manufactures and designs advanced mobile team communications solutions for first
responders. Madesco is the architect of TeamComms,
a wireless and hands-free modular communications system that enables first responders
to hear and be heard at the individual, team and command levels simultaneously.
The HSIA provides a mechanism for government and the private sector to coordinate
on a wide range of homeland security issues. HSIA (www.hsianet.org)
member companies include General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Lockheed Martin (NASDAQ:
LMT), Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), and Groen Brothers (OTCBB: GNBA).
According to Bruce Aitken, HSIA President "HSIA is the leading U.S. trade
association for homeland security companies. Homeland Security is the business
of all businesses and of every US citizen. Since September 11, 2001 the business
of homeland security has responded to a dramatic change in needs. America's
safety will continue to require cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The problems surrounding communication between and among first responders are
arguably the most important issues that have yet to be resolved."
"We are proud to have been accepted as a member of the Homeland Security
Industries Association. Our membership places us in the company of our respected
peers in the industry and strengthens our connection to the industry and the
United States government." said Larry Cole, president of Madesco Technologies
Inc. "The members of HSIA are the who's who in the sector and our membership
will elevate the awareness of our company within this community and could lead
to some significant strategic partnerships. Our mission is to improve the safety
and efficiency of first response teams through the deployment of our TeamComms
communication solution, being a part of the HSIA is a significant step towards
this goal."
According to The Hill, a non-partisan and non-ideological weekly newspaper
published in Washington, DC, the Homeland Security Industries Association (HSIA)
is one of the top lobbying groups for the Homeland Security sector. The HSIA,
headquartered in Washington DC, is a non-profit corporation established in August
2002, with more than 700 members and with regional centers in Orlando, Florida,
Monterrey, California and several overseas chapters.
